The spring soccer season is underway in Bella Coola.

The sun was out for our opening night, Wednesday April 17, and the players were excited to be back on the grass, with over 40 youth soccer players out on the field for the first practice.

Kindergarten to Grade 4 aged players will be participating on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on the SAMS field. Players in grades 5-7 and Grade 8-plus will be playing on Thursday evenings, also at 6:30 p.m.

Each practice consists of age appropriate drills, skills and teamwork activities, along with game play and competitive opportunities.

To keep registration fees minimal, the league relies on the generosity of local businesses.

Every season soccer equipment and jerseys need to be updated, so we are very grateful to have businesses support the league. This season a big thanks goes to Mountain Valley Organics, Got Wood Contracting, Gibbs Contracting and Bella Coola Mountain Lodge.

In the past we have also had support from Alberts Repair, Kopas Store, Bella Coola Community Forest and Tweedsmuir Lodge. The players would all agree that their favourite sponsor is the Hagensborg Shop Easy, as they donate great snacks for all the players to enjoy after the practice.
